Prerequisites
- A valid email address that you check regularly, as verification and promotional emails will be sent there.
- A stable internet connection and a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) for the best experience on the mobile-optimized website.
- Proof of identity and address, such as a government-issued ID and a utility bill, to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) process for withdrawals.
- A payment method acceptable to the casino, such as Visa, Mastercard, Interac, or a reputable e-wallet like Skrill or Neteller.
- Understanding of your local gambling laws, particularly regarding the legal age (usually 18 or 19) and any tax obligations on winnings.
- A budget for gambling that you can afford to lose, and a commitment to play responsibly.
Step-by-Step Sign-Up
- Navigate to the Pickering Casino website using the provided link and click on the “Sign Up” or “Register” button, typically located in the top right corner.
- Fill in the registration form with your personal details: full name, date of birth, email address, and a strong password. Ensure all information matches your identification documents.
- Choose your preferred currency and, if applicable, enter a bonus code. Double-check for any welcome bonus offers that may require a code.
- Read and accept the terms and conditions. Pay special attention to the bonus wagering requirements and any restricted game contributions.
- Complete the account verification process. You may need to upload copies of your ID and proof of address immediately, or you will be prompted before your first withdrawal.
- Make your first deposit using a preferred method. Bonuses often require a minimum deposit (e.g., $20) to activate. After the transaction is processed, you may receive free spins or bonus funds.
- Log in to your new account and explore the lobby. Start with free-play mode if you want to test games before playing with real money.
How Wagering Works
When you accept a bonus, the funds are typically subject to wagering requirements, also known as playthrough. This is the number of times you must wager the bonus amount (and sometimes the deposit) before you can withdraw any winnings. Let’s break down the math with a practical example.
Suppose the welcome bonus is 100% up to $200. You deposit $100, and the casino matches it with $100 in bonus funds. The wagering requirement is 30x on the bonus amount. This means you need to wager 30 × $100 = $3,000 before you can cash out. Here is the formula: Wagering Required = Bonus Amount × Wagering Multiplier. In this case, $100 × 30 = $3,000.
But note: some casinos include the deposit in the calculation. If the requirement is 30x on (deposit + bonus), then you would need to wager 30 × ($100 + $100) = $6,000. This is a significant difference. Always read the terms to understand which formula applies.
Also, not all games contribute equally to wagering. Slots often contribute 100%, while table games like blackjack might contribute only 10% or even 0%. For example, if you play blackjack with a 10% contribution, a $100 bet would only count as $10 toward the $3,000 requirement. You would need to bet $30,000 in blackjack to meet the requirement. That is why it is wise to focus on slots with high RTP and 100% contribution.
| Game Type | Typical Contribution | Example: $100 Bet Counts As |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 100% | $100 |
| Video Poker | 20% | $20 |
| Blackjack | 10% | $10 |
| Roulette | 5% | $5 |
To avoid frustration, calculate the effective wagering requirement before playing. If you receive a $100 bonus with a 30x requirement, you know you must spin $3,000 through slots. With an average RTP of 96%, you can expect to lose around 4% of that, roughly $120, but your own skill and game choice can change the outcome.
Banking & Payments
Pickering Casino offers a variety of banking methods to suit Canadian players. The most common are credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), Interac e-Transfer, and e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller. Each method has its own processing times and fees. Withdrawals are typically processed within 24–48 hours, but e-wallets are fastest, often completing in under 24 hours, while bank transfers can take 3–5 business days.
When choosing a deposit method, consider these factors: transaction speed, fees, and whether the method is eligible for bonuses. Some bonuses exclude certain e-wallets, so check the terms. For example, depositing $500 via Interac e-Transfer is usually fee-free, but a credit card may incur a 2% fee from the casino. Similarly, withdrawals have a minimum amount (e.g., $20) and a maximum per transaction (e.g., $5,000).
To illustrate, if you deposit $200 and win $1,000, you request a withdrawal. The casino will process it after verifying your identity. The time to receive funds depends on the method: e-wallet within 24 hours, credit card in 1–3 days, and bank transfer up to 5 days. Always keep your account verification up to date to avoid delays.
Security
Security is paramount at any online casino. Pickering Casino uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption to protect your personal and financial data during transmission. This technology scrambles information, making it unreadable to third parties. Additionally, the casino operates under a Curacao gaming license, which provides a framework for fairness and security. However, players in EU and Nordic countries should note that winnings from Curacao-licensed casinos may be subject to local income tax, unlike those from MGA or local licenses. Check your local tax laws to understand your obligations.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is often available as an extra layer of security. Enable it to prevent unauthorized access to your account. Also, set a strong, unique password and never share it. The casino will never ask for your password via email or phone. Be wary of phishing attempts that impersonate the casino.
Common Problems & Fixes
Problem: Unable to log in
If you cannot log in, first check your internet connection and that you are entering the correct username and password. Use the “Forgot Password” feature to reset your password via email. If the issue persists, contact customer support, as your account may be locked due to failed login attempts.
Problem: Withdrawal pending for over 48 hours
Withdrawals may take longer if your account verification is incomplete. Ensure you have submitted your KYC documents. Also, check if you have any unsettled wagering requirements or a pending bonus that blocks withdrawals. Contact support for specific details.
Problem: Bonus not credited after deposit
Bonuses may require an opt-in or a bonus code. Check the promotions page and verify that you entered any applicable code. Also, some payment methods (e.g., Skrill) may be excluded from bonus eligibility. If you believe you qualify, contact support.
Problem: Game will not load
If a game does not load, refresh the browser or clear your cache. Ensure you have the latest version of your browser. If you are using a mobile device, try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa. If the issue continues, try a different browser or device.
Problem: Responsible gambling concerns
If you feel you are losing control, use the casino’s deposit limits, time-outs, or self-exclusion tools. You can also set a budget and stick to it. The casino’s support team can guide you to these features, and you should seek help from professional organizations if needed.
Pro Tips
To maximize your chances, focus on games with a high Return to Player (RTP) percentage. Slots with an RTP of 96% or higher are generally better. For example, many online slots offer RTPs of 96.5% or 97%. On the other hand, avoid progressive jackpot slots that have lower RTPs (sometimes below 90%) because a portion of every bet goes to the jackpot. Table games like blackjack and video poker can offer even higher RTPs, exceeding 99% if you use optimal strategy. However, remember that these games may contribute less to wagering requirements, so balance your gameplay between meeting wagering and playing high-RTP games for profit.
